Null Island, we have a problem!

I spent the last week working on upgrading SOLSTICE. The new Arduino electronics spent the last 48 hours running all kinds of tests without a problem.

But during the upgrade i also changed the screw connectors in the solar charge controller (one of the screws didn't clamp down properly). It seems a flake of metal, possible a small wire snippet, got left in the case when i closed it up. All bench tests where normal, but during installation in the outdoor cabinet that piece of metal got bumped to another part of the solar charger PCB. When i connected the battery, there was an orange spark and lots of white smoke.

So, i need a new charge controller. This will take some time. Until then, Solsticve will remain offline except for some indoor tests of the Arduino electronics.
